1 big idea worth considering.

I led sales and customer success orgs for over a decade, and always considered myself a “player coach”, which is fancy-speak for a leader that plays the role of coach for their team.

I wasn’t.

It took me leaving that career and building a coaching business to realize that what I was doing - relationship building and trust building - isn’t the same as coaching. Foundational for coaching? Sure. But coaching in and of itself? Not at all.

Coaching is a skill, and it’s a skill that can be practiced and improved.

And now that I’m a year into building that coaching business, I’ve learned how transformational coaching can be for someone when done right.

Here’s what I wish I knew about coaching when I was leading teams.
