Our body notices everything.
Long before our minds form a single thought.
A tight chest. A quick breath. A sudden drop in energy.
Or the opposite - ease, warmth, expansion.
These are signals, not inconveniences. Our body is giving us data.
Most people ignore that data.
We were trained to not overreact. Get over it. Suck it up.
So we learned to override the most honest feedback system we have.
Your body stores what your mind skips.
You don’t remember every moment that overwhelmed you. But your nervous system does.
That’s why:
We hesitate around certain people.
We get tense in familiar situations.
We shut down when we wish we’d speak up.
We feel anxious even when “nothing is wrong.”
This isn’t weakness.
It’s old programming doing what it was designed to do: protect us.
If we want self-awareness, start with sensation.
Before we ask why… ask where.
Where does discomfort live in our body?
Where does our “no” live?
Where does our “yes” live?
What tightens?
What softens?
What speeds up?
What slows down?
We can’t change a pattern we can’t feel.
Awareness is physical before it’s intellectual.
Our body tells the truth in real time.
Our mind debates.
Our body reports.
Most of the confusion we feel comes from ignoring those reports.
The moment we start listening - to our breath, our posture, our tension, our relief - we see ourselves more clearly.
And clarity creates better choices.
Who we spend time with.
What we say yes to.
What we walk away from.
What we finally allow ourselves to feel.
Your body speaks before you do.
Slow down enough to hear it.
It’s been telling you the truth your whole life.
