Most of the things we fail at are failures of systems, not failures of skill or will.
We make relatively drastic decisions without thinking through the how of them (read: resolutions). We underestimate how difficult something will be. We overestimate how much time and energy we have available to commit to it. We add something without subtracting anything. We do more, but not as well. We anchor on activity over precision.
In short, we are good at dreaming and taking action, but not great at doing the right thing or the optimal thing within existing constraints.
How can I make this easy to succeed, and difficult to fail?
This question is key to building habits.
This question is key to breaking habits.
This question is key to major changes in our lives.
This question is key to solving complex challenges.
And if you build this question into the daily rhythm of life, it becomes key to leading a life where success, however you define it, is more likely than not.
If you find value in the things I publish here, it’d mean the world if you’d share it with someone else. It’s the only way this space and community continues to grow.
