In any given scientific discipline, our collective knowledge is an infinitesimally small percentage of what is discoverable.
No matter how strong a person or group's faith is, they can only see tiny glimpses of the God they purport to believe in.
Regardless of how staunch our political beliefs are, they are built on an impossibly narrow view of reality.
We all have beliefs about the way the world works, and the way the world should be. But our views are incomplete.
If we pause to contemplate and recognize this in our own life, it leads to something positive - humility. For what is humility if not the recognition that we do not have it all figured out.
And wherever there is humility, there is a peace that only comes from an absence of ego.
Believe what you believe, but never at the expense of rigidity that doesn't adapt to new information. Because whatever it is that we think we know...it's all incomplete.
