We can likely think back to a point in our career when we thought "This isn't the industry for me" or "Why did I choose this career path?"
It's those periods in life when each day can be a struggle and we're operating at 25% of our potential. We are simply uncomfortable with the path we see laid in front of us.
But these periods are also natural. How can we evolve and grow if we don't make hard decisions about our paths every now and then?
The problems arise when those periods become the steady state. Instead of letting the discomfort drive us to new and better versions of ourselves, we instead lower the standards of our life and accept a path that we aren't excited about. And this, to me, is one of the great tragedies in life when it happens.
The discomfort is there for a reason. It's there to push us to think bigger about what we can be doing with this single life we're given. The discomfort is there for us, not to beat us.
Use the discomfort.
