First things first.
Why mindset matters most.
You know what phenomenon we mostly ignore outside of the medical community?
The placebo effect.
Think about it. We all know what it is. But do we ever stop to think about the gravity of what the placebo effect actually means?
It means our minds have the power to heal us. Literally.
Placebos have been used across thousands and thousands of rigorous studies for any disease or ailment you can think of. New pharmaceuticals must prove they are more effective than placebos before they can go to market. Scientists must plan and account for placebos and the placebo effect in nearly every study they do. And you know how often they work?
33% of the time.
And that's across numerous studies. The range of success rates is actually anywhere from 15% to 72%. Isn't that remarkable? A third of the time a patient is given a placebo, they have a positive outcome. A THIRD.
So why am I talking about this?
When it comes to creating the best version of ourselves - day in and day out - there is one thing that rises above all. Our mindset.
Our minds have the power to craft our visions, create persistent joy, and heal our bodies. If we can focus on mastering our mindset every single morning, our fitness and knowledge (the other two sections of this email) will take care of themselves. The how of creating our best selves then becomes obvious.
By putting first things first.
